Most people don't realize that a lot of what they want or need to do in AE can be done in Vegas w/o going to any outside toolset. Especially where text effects are concerned. I would never say that Vegas does everything that AE does of course, just that a lot of the Vegas compositing ability goes unused and unknown by Vegas owners. Best of luck.
